Looks like the Great Firewall or something like it is preventing you from completely loading www.skritter.com because it is hosted on Google App Engine, which is periodically blocked. Try instead our mirror:

legacy.skritter.cn

This might also be caused by an internet filter, such as SafeEyes. If you have such a filter installed, try adding appspot.com to the list of allowed domains.

recent problem with vocab list maker in China

蓓蕾   April 18th, 2011 6:48a.m.

I don't know if anyone else has been encountering this problem, but for the last few days I have been having an issue when trying to create new sections in the vocab list maker. It seems as though maybe it's something the great firewall is blocking, because when I work through a VPN on either server it doesn't run into this problem.

When I create a new section, the section will appear, empty, with no problem. I can click on "add words", and enter words with no problem. The problem comes when I hit "save changes" - the page shows the "saving" screen and sits there indefinitely.

When I use a (ghastly slow) VPN and the .com site I do not encounter this problem. I also do not encounter it on the .cn site through the VPN. With no VPN, I pretty much cannot access the .com site.

I am in China and just tried it out. Used skritter.cn. I added a new section and added 5 words to it. Worked fine. Did not use VPN.

I have the same problem. I made a new list and managed to add 2 new words then it stopped working. Im gonna try it out on my VPN now. I want to study my new words :(

Problem solved for people with VPN. You just go on the www.skritter.com page. Seems the problem only exists on skritter.cn

I'm in china, don't use VPN and still have this problem since last week, just tried it again some minutes ago. Any update from Scott or Nick?

I also had this problem earlier this week. Haven't tried today.

I think this is fixed now. Give it a try and let me know if you still have any problems saving your lists.
