6-month subscription doesn't actually save money?

jhaz   May 8th, 2011 12:58p.m.

I am looking into the prepaid subscription because it would be easier to ask for someone to buy that for me, but it says "$10 per month; saves you $6." Not that I'm asking you to lower the price but I'm just confused because the monthly cost is $9.95 so it actually costs more to pre-pay.

I'm guessing the monthly subscription used to cost more or something like that.

Any thoughts?

I'm also looking at the Institutional page because I am trying to see if my Japanese professor could get this for our school (we have Japanese and Chinese classes here) but this link is broken:

http://www.skritter.com/misc/coupon_quickstart_v2

I also dont wanna start another thread so I'm going to say this here... But I absolutely love this site! The function itself is great, but the more I read the FAQs and other "customer service" related items, the more I love it because it's so clear how closely you guys looked at making your site work well. Your customer service documents are really great, friendly, and clear. I hope my professor sees the same thing when she looks at the site, because I would love to be able to get my school involved with Skritter!

...So yeah.

They used to have different prices where you could buy more in advance and save some money, but awhile ago they changed it so that you always pay the same per month no matter what. I forget what the reason was for changing it.

Hmm. Well, since it's only a $0.30 difference it doesn't bother me. Was just curious about it. Thanks for explaining it to me! =)

They moved to a subscription model a while back, and the pay for 6 months bit was kept merely as an alternate payment method, I think!

Is it in some old print materials that you're seeing this $6 savings thing? There may be some old sheets in circulation with that info on there. If it's actually on our site somewhere, let me know so I can update it.

I'll update the link to the quickstart; for now, just add .pdf to the link.

jhaz   May 8th, 2011 10:19p.m.

It's what appears in the product description when you're using Google Checkouts. So it's probably something you can update but it's not exactly on the site. XD

Thanks for your help! =D

Ah, I see! We'll get that cleaned up. Thanks!
