retention rate

What do the new retention rates on the Progress Reminders mean?

Mine was listed as 0.9% in the email I just got. On my Progress page, it's closer to 90%.

Ditto for the tweeters here:

Oh I see now. A simple hundredfold mistake.

That Twitter search, which turns up the progress stats for a number of Skritter users, makes me think it would be nice to add some quasi-competitive aspect to Skritter so we can see how much progress we're doing relative to one another. Two ideas along those lines are

1. Add leaderboards for users with the highest numbers of known characters total, highest numbers learned in the last month, etc.

2. Add an option to our profile allowing other people to see how many characters we know/have learned in the last month. Those could show up when we post to the forums, for example.

I've fixed the reminder retention rate mistake, but since I'm in the midst of tearing apart most of the Flash code in preparation for pinyin and definition practice, I forgot to upload it.

The leaderboards are drawing nearer, oh yes. More public profile stuff may be a bit later, but will be pretty awesome.
